Soldier On Members Enjoy Skiing at Nakiska
On March 15-18, Soldier On members in Alberta enjoyed a ski and snowboarding camp at the Nakiska Ski Area. With the help from Nakiska staff, participants of all skill levels were able to enjoy their activity of choice and bond together.
“I have really shut down over the past few years and after this week I realize how much I have missed spending time with my service brothers/sisters,” says MCpl (retired) Mike Lemoine. “This really was a fantastic week and has opened me up to reaching out to old friends and I feel like a new person.”
“What a fantastic experience,” says Sgt (retired) Darryll Newsham. “It was a great time, engaging with fellow veterans and still serving members, in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.”
“This event was great as yet again I made new friends with common experiences,” says WO (retired) Larry Leduc. “Since joining Soldier On, I have found a new reason to enjoy my life being better-rounded with being with military folks at arm’s length.”
“It was great to be around soldiers again and skiing at Nakiska was perfect for all the different skill levels,” says MCpl (retired) James Percy, who also praised the meals and accommodations. “The event was so well-organized from start to finish; it was all the fun without the stress.”
